Purchase, Takeover, Refund & Payout Policy

1. Prices and fees

Prices are shown in US dollars. The total you pay is always shown before you confirm payment, and it is made up of three parts: the amount that goes to the previous holder (or the base price for an unclaimed pixel), a platform fee, and a payment-processing fee charged by our payment provider, Stripe.

2. Digital delivery

What you buy is a right to display a design on the pixels you purchase, for as long as you hold them. It is delivered once your payment is confirmed and the purchase is completed, at which point the pixels show as yours in your account.

If two people try to buy the same pixels at the same time, only one purchase can complete. If your payment is taken but the pixels cannot be delivered to you, you will be refunded in full.

3. Takeovers

Pixels that are already held can be taken over by another buyer. When that happens, the previous holder’s display right ends and their design no longer displays there. The price for the new buyer is based on what the previous holder paid in total, plus a markup that goes to the previous holder.

The previous holder receives a payout calculated on a basis of 125% for the first takeover of a pixel and 110% for later takeovers, applied to the final all-inclusive amount they actually paid for the affected pixels (after discounts and refunds). Payouts are conditional and are not guaranteed returns.

A takeover is final once it completes: the new holder gains the display right and the previous holder cannot reverse it.

4. Refunds and withdrawal rights

Purchases are final. We will refund a purchase in these cases:

• a duplicate charge for the same purchase;
• a payment you did not authorise;
• a failed delivery, where you paid but the pixels were not delivered to you; and
• any other case where the law gives you a refund right that cannot be waived.

5. Payout eligibility

Payouts to previous holders are made through Stripe. To receive money you must complete Stripe’s onboarding, where Stripe collects and verifies your identity and bank details. We do not receive or store your bank details.

We may delay, withhold, or reverse a payout where needed to deal with fraud, a chargeback or payment dispute, a breach of the Terms or Content Rules, or a legal requirement. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to money you receive. [TAX AND VAT INFORMATION FOR SELLERS — to be completed.]

6. Unclaimed and delayed payouts

If a payout is due before you have completed Stripe onboarding, it stays pending until you do, and is then transferred to your account. At present there is no minimum payout amount and no fixed holding period, but a payout may still be delayed for the reasons above.
